Both charming cottages are located on the edge of the historic village of Greyabbey on the eastern shores of Strangford Lough on the Ards Peninsula. A small, historic village famous for its Cistercian Abbey which dates back to 1193 and is set in a beautiful parkland with an abbey church, recreated medieval ‘physic’ (herb) garden and visitor centre. The village has many historic buildings and is popular for its antique, vintage, coffee shops and restaurants.

Strangford Lough, a beautiful marine nature reserve, is a designated area of ‘outstanding natural beauty’ perfect for taking to the water or enjoying scenic walks. There are opportunities for horse riding, birdwatching, walking and sailing all within a few miles of the village.

There are a number of very special National Trust properties nearby including Mount Stewart and Castleward. These historic properties with their stunning gardens are well worth a visit and throughout the year stage special events including jazz concerts and vintage fairs.

Less than 5 minutes drive is the village of Ballywalter which has a stunning beach to enjoy. You can also drive along Belfast Lough to the picturesque town of Donaghadee with its lovely harbour, lighthouse, coffee shops and seafood restaurants.

In less than 30 minutes drive you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of Belfast with its recently opened ‘Titanic Centre’, Cathedral Quarter, array of historic buildings and a multitude of shops and restaurants in Victoria Square.

The famous Mourne mountains and the seaside town of Newcastle are 45 minutes drive. Northern Ireland’s only aquarium ‘Exploris’ is in Portaferry which is a 20 minute drive away. From here you can take the ferry across the lough by car or as foot passengers and spend some time at the beautiful village of Strangford with its numerous restaurants, bars and craft shops.

Castle Espie a bird sanctuary run by the Wildlife and Wetlands Trust is within easy reach for a days outing. The Ulster Flying club at Newtownards Airport (7 miles) offers pleasure flights down the lough.
