County Down Traction Engine Club
Event Category: Classic Vehicles Show
-
Preparations are underway for the County Down Traction Engine Club’s annual working vintage festival at Rosemount Estate in Greyabbey on Saturday 12 August.
The event will be similar to previous years in that there will be a display of tractors, lorries, cars, steam engines, stationary engines, etc in the main rally field along with trade stalls, craft tents, food outlets, amusements, music and dancing, etc. While in the large working area you can see vintage machines being put though their paces harvesting oats with binders and combines and digging potatoes for the public to gather. There will also be threshing mills and balers working together with tractor pulling, ploughing and cultivating.
This is a community and family day out for children and adults alike and is supported by Ards and North Down Borough Council, NFU Mutual, NG Bell and others. So for a good family day out where you can see our agricultural, transport and cultural heritage at first hand, come along and experience it for yourself.
