Trinity Presbyterian Church Greyabbey Trinity

Preysbyterian Church in Ireland.

Newtownards Road
The Church's mission:
Trinity Presbyterian Church is one of the 560 congregations of The Presbyterian Church in Ireland - a church which serves the whole island, both North and South and, with a total membership of some 300,000 people, it is the largest protestant denomination in Northern Ireland. The Presbyterian form of Christian faith is best described as 'Reformed' with its strong emphasis on the Sovereignty of God, the Kingship of Christ and the authority of the Bible.
History of the Congregation
Presbyterians are known to have worshipped here since 1650 but a congregation was not formed until 1733. In 1829 the then Minister, the Rev John Watson and a majority of his congregation seceded from the church. As they retained the church building (now known as the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church) the remaining 100 members built a new church along the shore. It was replaced by the present church building in 1904 and adjoining halls were completed in 1977. Today the congregation has a total membership of 435 persons.
Services:
Sunday services are held at 11.30am and 6.30pm (11.00am only during July and August).
